Pit stop at the Spann's

 Our friends from Birmingham moved to Nashville, TN for fellowship.  That was pretty much the half way point for our drive home from Destin.  They were so sweet and let us stop for the night.  It was so great to catch up and visit with them.

Thanks hotel Spann for letting us crash for the night!  We look forward to having more time next time.

After such a busy week the kids were worn out.  It made for a nice quiet drive home.

One more Destin post

 The kids liked spending time in the pool after the beach.  We would swim for a bit before getting cleaned up for dinner.

 Evelyn did a better job cooperating than Audrey did.  Audrey kept complaining she was getting dirty.  She enjoys playing in the sand now but she's still a diva. :)

The Grimm Family

 The Grimm family came to the beach for a couple of days so we could visit with each other.  They are our friends from residency/fellowship.  When we moved up here they moved to Dallas for a 1 year fellowship.  Just weeks before meeting us at the beach they moved to Mobile, AL for their attending job.

 We had dinner together at their condo.  Their backyard backs up to the golf course.  The kids had fun running around it and trying to putt.  It was so funny to watch!

 Paul and Evelyn are about a week apart.  They had fun crawling around together.  Here they are bumping heads both going for the ball in the hole.

 We met up that night at the original Dewey Destin for dinner.  The kids had a great time eating together on the water.

 After our delicious seafood we were all ready for a sweet treat.  We stopped at Shakes on the way home for ice cream.  I had to take a picture of the dads sitting on the bench with all the kids.

In Birmingham we used to meet up at the park and zoo all the time with these guys.  It was so great to see them again and catch up after not seeing them for a year!  We are so grateful they took the time to come to the beach and see us so soon after their move.  We can't wait to see them at the beach again next summer!

More Destin

 The kids are always so happy at the beach

 Evelyn likes my fage yogurt.  She likes it so much she got my empty container off the top of the garbage to lick it clean.  This little girl is so crazy!

 We had to eat at the Dewey Destin Harborside.  You aren't right on the water at this location but the view isn't bad and the food is just as delicious.

 Evelyn was able to take a decent nap in the cabana.  It was nice not having to sit inside waiting on her to wake up.

 A beach trip isn't complete with out digging a big hole.  They did a lot of digging that week.

Destin, FL

 The kids have been asking when we are going to go back to the beach ever since we moved.  The end of July we made the trip down and spent the week at our favorite beach Crystal Beach in Destin, FL.

We weren't sure is Evelyn was going to be a diva like Audrey was at this age.  She LOVED the beach!  She laughed at the waves and had a blast in the sand.

 We didn't waste any time and went to the original Dewey Destin for dinner our first night.  The kids ate so much shrimp and fish that week.  They love sitting on the water too.

There was a really sweet man that saw us taking timed pictures that came over and took a couple for us.

11 months!

 The end of July Evelyn turned 11 months old!  When I first tried to get some pictures with the stickers she just wasn't having it.  I couldn't resist posting the picture anyway.

Some 11 month info...Evelyn still takes a short morning nap and a longer afternoon nap, sleeps through the night, still likes her bottles, doesn't care too much for sippy cups, drinks better out of a straw than a sippy cup, crawls super fast, cruises along furniture, is vocal, has no fear, loves the beach...

I could go on and on but I won't.  She is just an overall happy baby and we can't get enough of her.

 Audrey loves the park and Evelyn is at that age where she can start enjoying it too.  She loves the swing and Audrey loves to push her.
