Little Diva turns 2!

It's hard to believe Audrey is already 2! She's a little miss independent & 100% girlie girl. At her doctor appointment she weighed in at a whopping 23 lbs. (yep, that's only the 10th percentile) and is 33 in. tall (40th). I could go on and on about this little girl but I'll keep it short. Here are a couple of the several pictures from her big day.
So excited for us to sing happy birthday to her. I made the Sprinkles recipe for strawberry cupcakes with strawberry frosting. They were delicious! Audrey loved the princess liners and the fact that the cupcakes were pink.
Showing me her princess sparkle shoes from Grandma Debbie. When they arrived she put them on immediately and didn't take them off until bedtime. She LOVES them!
Playing with her ballerina puzzle from Great Grandma Aprahamian
Who needs presents when you have a box full of peanuts :) The kids played with it like it was a ball pit all afternoon. I was hard to get mad about the huge mess when they were having so much fun
Tita Angela & Uncle Brett got her a princess castle tent. Both kids love it and crawled through the tunnel countless times. They did not want to get ready for bed.
We got her a pack 'n play for baby Stella and she had to bring it in the castle. She even had baby Stella go through the tunnel.

These are just a few of the many gifts. Thank you to everyone for spoiling our little princess!

Spring Break recap

Last week was the kid's spring break. We lucked out with great weather all week. We managed to keep busy so the week ended up going quicker than I thought it would.
Carter got a spiderman watch and has only taken it off for baths. He likes checking the time often.
The kids played outside while I gave Carter's dresser a face lift. I wanted to paint it since we moved him into his big boy room how many years ago. Better late than never. I'm happy with how it turned out and Carter told me it looks cool.
We went to the Mc Wane Center with Chuck one morning when he was post call. Carter and Chuck have to stick their faces in the peg boards every time.
The fish are always entertaining. They even had a starfish out for the kids to touch that day.
We got the wagon out and met our friends at the zoo.Enjoying a picnic lunch before heading homeGot some yard work done with the help of our little assistants. Carter enjoyed being in charge of the fertilizer or as he liked to call it "foodalizer"
Stopped to smell the tulips at the botanical gardens
The kids were sweaty and worn out by the time we left the gardens. Audrey was asleep before we were even half way home.

My monkey

We've been having some nice spring weather lately. It's allowed us to spend a lot of time outdoors. I've been able to work on the yard and we've been going to the park.
I've always called Carter my monkey and he really is one at the park. He loves to climb everything. I can't tell you how many times he climbed this thing.
Little miss didn't want her picture taken that day so this drunk eyed picture is the only one I got.

A few more pics

Back at Grandma & Grandpa's Carter & Chuck got into Chuck's old legos. I think Chuck had more fun with it than Carter.
I think this is my first picture with both Max & Sasha with the kids.
Before we knew it, it was time to hit the road again.

Abingdon

This year has been challenging with Chuck in fellowship. We don't get enough time together as family and really don't get any time to ourselves. So we took advantage of the free babysitting and left the kids with the grandparents and spent a couple of nights at the Summerfield Inn in Abingdon, VAWhen we got to the bed & breakfast I was surprised with a beautiful bouquet and a box of chocolates. It was a nice day so we walked around checking out all the little shops etc. The b & b was walking distance to everything.
That evening we went to a dinner at the Martha Washington Inn. Both of our meals were delicious. Then we went to the Barter Theatre where we saw Xanadu.
Warming up by the fire after an afternoon of shopping for the kids. Our second night there we went to dinner and a movie. We aren't even sure what the last movie was that we got so see in the theater. It was nice to have some much needed quality time together.

Gone fishing

We went to Grandma & Grandpa's new house in TN for a long weekend. Carter was so excited to go fishing so it was the first thing he did after breakfast our first day there.
They looked so cute together waiting patiently for the fish to bite. The fish were jumping but not biting that morning. Carter is really getting the hang of casting. It was easier for him to use Audrey's princess pole since it's smaller than his.
While the boys were fishing, Audrey gave Grandma a workout running around and climbing the stairs several times.

Obsessed

Audrey is obsessed with babies, princesses and ballerinas lately. She's quite the little mama when she's around other babies and with her dolls. She won't go to bed without baby Stella in her crib. I shouldn't have been surprised to find her with a pacifier (as you know she's a thumb sucker) sitting in baby Stella's stroller. I was worried about the stroller breaking but had to take a few pictures first.
As for Carter, he can't get his mind off of Star Wars! It's mentioned several times a day and he even includes it in his bedtime prayers some nights. His favorite Wii game is Lego Star Wars and he wants a Star Wars themed b-day party. We already found him the perfect b-day gifts to add to his collection. It's going to be hard to wait to give them to him!
