magic school bus, etc

 Carter has been enjoying his monthly magic school bus experiments.  They contain the instructions and supplies for multiple experiments so we have fallen behind.  He was excited to build the volcano.

 He did all the work himself.  There are several different experiments to do with the one volcano. We'll see which one he likes best.

 While the volcano dried they went outside to play football

 We had to take advantage of the weather since we knew the days were numbered.

I have to capture sweet moments like these.  It's not too often I wake up to them snuggling and getting along.

Shaping Sound

 The beginning on November Shaping Sound came to Peoria.  They are such an amazing dance company and I'm so glad Angela and Brett were able to come down to see them with us.

 Audrey has been into braiding.  Poor Tita Angela went through the pain of letting Audrey practice on her hair.

Their visit wouldn't be complete without some Filipino cooking. We topped it off with home made turon! 

Trick or treat

 The kids trick or treat buckets were getting worn out and gross.  I ordered them embroidered trick or treat bags  for this year.  It's so nice to be able to throw them in the wash before storing them away.

 Sofia the First, Star lord and Minnie Mouse ready to get some candy.  This year we took them to a neighboring neighborhood where there are a lot more houses.  Then we came home and made our little loop.  They loved getting so much more candy.

 The sky looked so perfect for Halloween night that I made them stop running to the next house and take a picture.

 I didn't have time to get the fun Halloween cupcakes from The Chef and The Baker.  Instead I picked up some Frankenstein cookies.

The kids were being goofy and pretending to pull the witch out of the pot.

Carving pumpkins

 Halloween week was so busy we didn't have time to carve pumpkins until the night before.  Carter was at a party so it was just the girls.

 Carter's is on the left and Chuck's is on the right.  Carter decided to draw his own this year instead of using a pattern.  He did it 100% on his own.

Famous person speech

 The 4th graders gave their famous person speech in front of the entire school and parents.  They got to pick their person and Carter chose Eddie Lacy.  They had to dress the part as well.  I didn't get a picture of him at the microphone because Chuck was on call and couldn't be there.  I video taped it for Chuck. 

 Carter did a great job and it was fun to hear all the different people the kids came up with.

After the fourth graders were done with their speeches all the classes got to parade across the stage to show their costumes.

After the Halloween parade they all went back to their classrooms for their parties.

music program, etc

Carter had his school music program at the end of October.  It was a Sock Hop theme this year.

 The boys all wore white t-shirts and jeans.  Some of them even gelled their hair.  Some of the girls had cute poodle skirts etc.

  Evelyn got to wear her costume to gymnastics.  She only wore it for the picture because she is dead set on wearing her leotard.
