Evelyn Ann

We've had a crazy summer with a lot of unexepected things happen.  Naturally, that's how Evelyn's arrival was too.  We had an induction planned for Monday (today) and my sister Angela was going to be here to help with the kids.  Evelyn had other plans.  Last Tuesday right as I was cleaning up from dinner I all of a sudden started to have contractions.  That was around 6:45pm.  Chuck immediately went into panic mode and had me get my bag and get in the car.  While I was getting ready to go he called his coworker Beth to come watch the kids.  Luckily, she was home and lives close and got here quickly.  We got to the hospital fast thanks to Chuck speeding :)  I was checked in shortly after 7 and was already dialated 7cm!  The staff was aware of my history of delivering fast so they were great about moving everything along.  My doctor made it just in time and she was out by 8:24.
Evelyn is our biggest baby.  8 lbs 5.9 oz!  We were so surprised to hear the weight.  Especially since just a few days before they were estimating her weight at 7 lbs 5 oz.  She's 18 in long.  It was nice beacuse we were home by lunch Thursday.  Now we are adusting to life with 3!

ballet & bikes

Audrey was so excited to start ballet and tap at her new studio.  Tuesday was her first day at the Peoria Ballet Academy.  She loved her new class and could not stop talking about her new studio.  Throughout the summer she kept asking about ballet and told me how she needs it.
Now that the weather is enjoyable the kids can't get enough of their bikes.  They love to ride while I walk Sasha.
They conitnue to ride after Sasha's ready to go back inside.  We can't wait to take family bike rides on the trail.

soccer season

Carter's first season of soccer started with a clinic with the Bradley University soccer team and coaches.  Carter's been excited to start and had a great time.  He was happy to see a couple of boys from bible school were there.  As soon as we were in the car to go home he asked when he gets to practice again.
Audrey had fun kicking the ball around with Chuck and I while Carter practiced
That day I also took what turned out to be my last pregnancy picture,  Here I am 38 weeks and 2 days.

Sky

Carter had vacation bible school last week and he had a blast as usual.  This year's theme was Sky.  On Friday when I picked him up he told me he was sad it was over.  I think he's ready for the school year to begin. :)  Friday night they had a closing celebration and cookout.  The kids got up on the stage and sang some of the songs they learned then we enjoyed dinner outside.  They put up a bounce house and the kids had fun playing.
The other weekend we had a family maternity photo shoot with Amanda E. Photography.  She was great to work with and we got a variety of shots.  With this being my last pregnancy we thought it would be fun to document it with some nice pictures.  This shot is from the sneak, sneak peak she posted on facebook.  It gets me excited to see the rest of the pictures.  I'm just over 36 weeks in this picture.
The kids are loving the wild life that's in our backyard at the rental.  They stood on the deck and watched these deer until they went away.  They were happy to hear we will most likely continue seeing deer, etc at the new house.

mouldings & surrounds

We are excited about the progress being made on the house!  All of our specialty mouldings and surrounds are going up and look great!  Here are the mouldings around the great room windows and the built ins around the fireplace have been started.  I know the details are hard to see in the distant picture but you get the idea.  Can't wait to see it all complete!
Mouldings around the front doors
 In Chuck's office
The surrounds in the master bath.  The same surround will be going around the pole in the basement.
The tile has also started to go in!
 Powder room tile
Can't wait to see it all cleaned up and enhanced.
There's been more progress on the outside as well!  Next, the brick and stone will be going up in front.

36 weeks

This last Saturday I was 36 weeks.  We are officially on baby watch and getting the final things ready.  Carter was born at 37 weeks & 2 days so she could surprise us any day now.  We got what we need out of boxes and picked up diapers and wipes.  As much as we're ready for her arrival we are hoping she waits 3 more weeks.  That's when we'll induce in an attempt to control the delivery again and when Chuck has time off.  Only time will tell.
My new glider arrived and I love it!  It's so much more comfortable than my old one.  The kids like it too so I find myself having to kick them out to have a comfy place to sit.
 More personalized cuteness.
I had a few things personalized before we moved and just recently had some more made.  Here's the latest to arrive, a couple of burp cloths and a bib.  I'm so happy with how they turned out.

Losing teeth & hair

Carter lost his other top front tooth the other day.  It came out with a little help from Audrey.  It was already loose and the kids were wrestling when it got bumped out.  Here he is showing off his toothless grin.
He thinks it's pretty funny he can stick his tongue through the big gap.
Next time he loses a tooth he wants to write a note to the tooth fairy asking where she gets all the money from.  Too funny :)
Audrey got her first "real" haircut this week.  Up until now I've been trimming her hair but we've been so busy I haven't taken the time to do it.  I decided it would be quicker and easier to take her to a salon and get it done.  She had this look on her face the entire time.  She did so well that the stylist gave her a sucker.
