Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!!!
We had a wonderful Easter. Chuck was post call so he was home with us and the kids had a lot of fun. They immediately searched for their baskets when they woke up. After breakfast we did an egg hunt outside. Here are a bunch of pictures from the day.
Audrey was so excited to find princess things in her basket.
Carter came running shouting, "A Star Wars basket!"
Carter was so sweet during the egg hunt. He made sure Audrey got her share of the eggs all on his own. He would find a couple for himself then find some for her. I know I've said it before, but he's such a good big brother.
Found her favorite-peanut m&ms in an egg
Cheese!
Carter found his favorite-caramel twix
Just cute
Such an Audrey look
Even Sasha got in the Easter spirit :)
We never got around to dying eggs earlier in the week so Carter & I dyed eggs while Audrey napped. It's always a must for Carter.

They're done!

I'm in the process of turning Audrey's room from the nursery to her big girl room. I already bought her comforter but we still need to buy the bed. I decided to make new valences to go with the new bedding. They were time consuming since I had to make four of them (she has two large windows). I'm glad they are finally done and happy with how they turned out.
Audrey was excited to see the new valences.
A close up so you can actually see what they look like.
I made a pillow with the left over fabric & ribbon.
I found this plain pillow for $5 and made ribbon flowers to make it pretty.
A random cute picture of my cuties :)

Hey little fella

Carter found this little inch worm the other day. He loved it and kept saying, "Hey, little fella." He told me he wanted to keep it forever and take care of it since it was away from his mommy. He's such a sweet little boy. I convinced him it was best for it to stay outside and he eventually found him the perfect leaf to set him on.
The kids keep asking for the beach and the pool now that it's been nice out. They are disappointed every time I have to remind them the pool doesn't open til May. They run around the house with their goggles and backpacks pretending to be swimming through the ocean.

Party

The day of the party we had beautiful weather. It got up to 90 that day! Without the humidity here yet it made for a great day to be outside. I didn't do a good job of taking pictures. I didn't even take a family one! I know, so not like me. Oh well. Here are a few that I did manage to take.
Audrey had to eat her lunch at the table with the princess table cloth on it.
The boys sat at the Star Wars table
Carter with his Star Wars ice cream cake
Audrey just kept staring at her princess cake. It was a yummy Edgars strawberry cake.
Even though the Grahams were out of town and couldn't make the party, they let us borrow their bouncy house.
Audrey & Lee were playing with all the ice in the drink buckets. They were entertained for quite some time and were soaked by the time they were done.

Party prep

We had the kids birthday party this weekend. Even though it turned out to be a bad weekend to get people to attend I still wanted to make it fun and special for the kids. The kids love balloons and always want one when we go to the store. Friday, while Audrey napped I took Carter to pick some out for the party.
Carter did a great job picking out the perfect ones. The kids loved them played with them all afternoon. This picture is from when Carter was hiding behind all of them and called me into the room to see if I could find him.
Audrey ran laps around the house with the balloons. I could not get her to stop and take a picture. So and action shot is what you get. She was spinning around like a ballerina :)
Love the look on his face
Carter wanted me to make his Star Wars cookies for the party. He helped cut them out then I waited till the kids were in bed to frost them. He was thrilled with how they turned out!
To be fair I made some princess crowns for Audrey.

more zoo fun

The other weekend we went back to the zoo. This time we met up with the Cherrys. They were not going to be able to make the birthday party so we got together at the zoo. It was another gorgeous day and the kids had a blast together.
Carter loves this elephant that sprays water out of its trunk. It's part of the new Trails of Africa exhibit.
Group picture: Carter, Audrey, Caroline & Margaret. Despite the rising temperature Audrey refused to take her zip up off.
