Recital

Audrey was so excited for the real deal!  She kept telling me how Grandma & Grandpa and Tita Angela were coming to watch her.  I love this picture of her.  I love her tap costume too!
I managed to get into one too :)
Audrey and I had to be there early.  Tita Angela drove us so the rest of the crew could take the van.  Such a cute pic of the 2 of them.
 She did a great job!
I wish I caught a picture of it but I think I was too busy laughing.  At one point during the dance Audrey kept telling the other girl to get in her spot even showing her where she should be.  It was so funny and cute!
 Ready for ballet
Her teacher Miss Alex did a great job of entertaining and keeping the little ones occupied in between numbers.  I hope Audrey gets her for a teacher again next year.
Gloria was sweet and gave roses to all the Salem (our church) ballerinas.  It was so thoughtful.
 my beautiful ballerina
 so into her dance
So happy with how much she loves dance!
cutie :)

Dress Rehearsal

The day after Carter's graduation Audrey had her dress rehearsal for her dance recital.  Rehearsal was right at dinner time so she didn't eat well before leaving and ended up falling asleep in the car on the way to the theater.  I was worried she wouldn't do it since she was complaining and clingy when we got there.  The poor thing was just tired and hungry.
By the time it was her turn to go on she was fine.  I don't think she smiled at all but she did it.
Shuffle step
By the time ballet rolled around she had perked up and was having fun.  She was able to relax and have a snack in between numbers.
She was a trooper too!  Rehearsal went LONG and we didn't leave there until 9pm!  Thank goodness her ballet number was the 3rd one in the second act!
Such a poser! :)

First grade graduation

The day after we got back from the wedding Carter had his first grade graduation ceremony.  It was cute.  They all wrote their own graduation speech that the teacher read before giving them their diploma.  Carter really did well at his new school excelling in math and reading.  He loves his new friends and teacher.  I hope Audrey gets her when she's in first grade.  Hopefully his teacher next year will be as good.
After the ceremony we walked a couple of blocks to Jane's Ice Box.  The teachers treated the kids to ice cream to celebrate.  So fun!
It was also Chuck's birthday.  It was a busy day but I managed to get his birthday dessert made.  The kids helped blow out the candles.

Justin & Sarah's wedding

Memorial Day weekend we were back up in Milwaukee for Justin and Sarah's wedding.  Their ceremony and reception was at the Scottish Rite.  The food was amazing!  Justin is head chef and owner of Sanford.  All the food was prepared by a variety of talented chefs in the area that wanted to cook for their special day.  You can see some of the photographer's pictures on their blog by clicking here.  Carter made it on the blog post :)
We snapped a quick family picture before leaving for the wedding.
We were honored that they asked Carter to be a part of their wedding.  He did a great job as ring bearer.  The flower girl was close to Audrey's age so the 2 of them had a lot of fun playing together over the weekend.
The girls dancing with Daddy and Grandpa
Carter tore up the dance floor.  He had a blast and danced ALL night!  He finally gave in and was ready to leave around 11:00.

Trouble

Evelyn is a curious little girl these days.  She never misses an opportunity to get into something.  She loves to get into the pantry and pull everything off the shelves.
Carter and Audrey don't always remember to keep things out of her reach.  Evelyn loves to get their left over snacks.
Happy to be helping herself to some cereal.
She loves to shred paper and napkins.  Look at this smirk on her face.  Cracks me up :)
The kids beat me upstairs when Evelyn woke up from her nap.  I found them trying to entertain her and Audrey climbing out of her crib.  She was worried she was going to fall so Carter put pillows and blankets down
She continues to love to harass Sasha
She's obsessed with my water cups.  She has spilled them numerous times and plays with them.  Here she even had to carry it in her mouth because she wouldn't put it down.  She'll see me fill a cup and smack her lips at me to get a sip.

9 months

The end of May Evelyn turned 9 months old!  She continues to be such a good baby.  She loves to eat, sleeps through the night and goes with the flow.  She's still taking a morning and afternoon nap.  Depending on the other 2's schedules sometimes those naps happen in the car.
She speed crawls everywhere, pulls to standing and loves to climb the stairs
With her being so mobile it's been hard to get her monthly sticker pictures taken.

Preschool party

Audrey's last day of school was a water party.  They had different water stations set up around the yard.
The slide into the pool was by far the favorite.
Audrey and her best friend Alaina.  These two are hilarious together.
I had to include a picture of the other 2.  Carter lets Evelyn beat up on him all the time.  He's trying to read while she's banging on his head.  She'll give him kisses too if I tell her too.

flower pots and milestones

When we went to the nursery the kids each picked out a pack a seeds they wanted to plant.  Carter picked a pack of orange flowers and Audrey picked a pack of pink flowers.  Shocking I know!
It turned into a fun activity.  I let the kids paint their pots and they really had fun with it.  They turned out great too.  I'll have to get a picture of the finished product.  They were excited to plant their seeds and watch them grow.
Evelyn continues to grow by leaps and bounds.  She looks so cute in her cute tutu outfit.  Wearing a skirt, dress or tutu doesn't stop this little girl from crawling all over the place.
Crawling has also led to the discover of the stairs.  The baby gate is now in place.  She wasn't too happy with us about it.  She loves to climb the stairs.
Not even 9 months and she is pulling up to standing.  The kid's toys and things are no longer safe on the coffee table.  They learned quickly they actually have to put their things away in order for her not to get into them.
