Happy Valentine's Day

Carter and Audrey both wanted emoji boxes for Valentine's day.  I was grateful they picked something easy!
Evelyn didn't get to bring a box to preschool but she helped me put together a treat for her friends.
 School party
Audrey's teacher was on maternity leave and stopped in for a surprise visit.
Cute class picture with the baby
After preschool Evelyn helped me prep a Valentine themed dinner
Red tomato soup, heat shaped bacon, heart shaped grilled cheese, and heart tomato and fresh mozzarella skewers
The highlight was the chocolate dipped strawberries for dessert

Snow

February brought more snow.
The girls immediately went outside to play in it.  Carter chose to stay inside and do homework.
Sasha tried to catch the thrown snow
Snow as an adult is more tolerable seeing it bring so much joy to kids

playing in the snow wouldn't be complete without making snow angels

Spelling Bee Champ!

The school had their annual spelling bee in the beginning of February.  The class winners in grades 3rd-5th got to compete in the school bee.
Carter won the spelling bee!  We are so proud of him!

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend and didn't get to watch him win.  The principle had him call me to tell me the good news.  Next stop, the Journal Star Spelling Bee!

2nd grade music program

Audrey's class ready to perform, "Play Ball!"
They got to wear whatever baseball clothes they wanted.
Audrey has jumped on the Cubs bandwagon despite some of her friends influencing her to be a Cardinals fan.
Since Audrey lives for the stage, she was thrilled to have a large speaking part.
Another great job by our drama queen.
These cuties did a great job entertaining the parents.

Lego Master

Audrey finished her Magic Kingdom castle set!  It's an impressive set.
It's awesome how many different movies are represented in all the different rooms
She was so proud of herself.  We were too.  She did it on her own.  There were only a few times she asked for help.

Chocolate day

Audrey's class got to celebrate chocolate day.
They started the day by receiving golden tickets
This is a second grade tradition that the kids look forward to.  They know it's going to happen but the actual day is kept a surprise.
