school happenings

This was too cute I had to take a picture.  My friend started reading to her daughter and all these kiddos decided to listen in.
Evelyn and her teacher assistant have a special bond.  Mrs. Randall truly loves her job and it shows.
Audrey participated in the school talent show.  They had to audition to make it and were so excited to perform.
Ready to take the stage.  Audrey and Avery sang while Elizabeth played the piano.  They sang I Just Can't Wait to be King.  They wore animal print and I made the crowns they wore.
Audrey's class had Poetry Cafe and the parents were invited to join in the festivities.
It was a fun morning doing a variety of poetry activities.
The girls did a great job creating their roll the dice poem.
I stayed to have lunch with Audrey.  It's always interesting listening to the conversations at the lunch table.

Voices of Light

Audrey was asked to participate in the charity event, Voices of Light
She rarely says no especially when her friends are also participating.
They came out with candles when the soloist performed
Her friend from ballet.  The two of them also brought out the flowers for the performers.
 Ready for her part
There was a lot of time to kill backstage and these 2 had a little too much fun together
They were certainly entertaining.  It was a long day because her mom and I had already attended another fundraiser out of town that day.
I can't even tell you how many pictures I deleted from all their shenanigans.

School board presentation

Throughout the year each grade school does a presentation at the school board meeting. Our principal chose to let the kids do the talking.
Audrey was asked to represent second grade and she did great!
All the kiddos that represented Dunlap Grade School.  They all did a wonderful job speaking to the board.
A random picture I had to include.  I love watching my little ballerina.

Easter

The kids walking into the Club for the kid's Easter party. I love that Carter is holding Evelyn's hand.
They made cute Easter crafts and got their picture taken with the Easter bunny (which I can't seem to find)
The highlight is always the egg hunt
 Let the chaos begin!
Managed to get them to stop for an outdoor non-bunny picture
The girls loved that their dresses were good for twirling

It was such a gorgeous day we changed after the party and played a round of family golf
Easter morning family picture. This happened to be our last family picture with Sasha in it.
The Easter bunny brought the kids silly string and they had a lot of fun with it.

Preschool Easter worship

We attended Evelyn's Preschool Easter worship.  This year was extra special.  Evelyn's art was chosen for the program cover.
Waiting to line up with her friends
I love the bond these kiddos have formed over the last 3 years.
The worship starts with them waving palms and singing.

They shared the Easter story and sang songs
 Proud of her work

Mother/daughter date

These 2 cuties had been asking for a mother/daughter date for quite some time.  We finally got one scheduled.
We started with dinner at the club
And then took them to the Peoria Ballet's Sleeping Beauty.  It was a wonderful production.
They always ask for a silly picture
A few days later we had to say good bye to our friend Erica.  Her husband completed residency and they are moving to Iowa.
